Frequently Asked Questions

I’m thinking about taking an online course, but I’m not currently enrolled at a UNC System institution. Can I access the Enrolled Students section?

No. The Enrolled Student section is designed for anyone enrolled at one of the UNC System’s 17 campuses who has not already taken an online course, and is interested in learning more about what taking an online course entails. If you are not currently enrolled at one of the UNC System campuses you’ll be best served by the Prospective Student section.

I cannot access the Enrolled Student section

To access the Enrolled Students section you need an active computing account with one of the UNC System Institutions. If you do, you can follow these instructions to access the Enrolled Student section. If you do not have an active account, or if you are having trouble logging in with your institution’s username and password, you will need to contact the technical support group at your institution. 

I enter my username and password for my school and they don’t work.

If you follow these instructions and your institution’s username and password do not work, you will need to contact your institution’s technical support group for assistance.

How do I log out of the orientation site?

Logging out of the site is easy. At the top of the page there is a black bar with your name on the far right. Place your mouse over your name and select “Log Out” from the menu that appears. Alternatively, you can use this link to log out.

Do I have to take the Pre-Assessment?

No. While the Pre-Assessment will help you learn how you can best prepare for taking an online course at a UNC System school, it is not a site requirement.

How do I get a copy of my Pre-Assessment results?

The Pre-Assessment results can be viewed upon completion. If you want a copy, you can either enter your email address in the box provided as you take the Pre-Assessment, or you can print the results page once you’ve completed the Pre-Assessment. If you do neither of these, there is no way for us to deliver your results to you.

How do I view my quiz scores for the Enrolled Student section?

You can access the scores for the quizzes you have successfully completed by clicking on your name in the upper right-hand corner of any page, selecting “My Quizzes” on the next page, and then viewing your results in the “Completed Quizzes” section.
